HISTORY

Spectrofuge Corporation of NC, Inc. was founded by Larry Autry in October of 1975. After working for an original equipment manufacturer of biomedical laboratory equipment for several years, Mr. Autry saw a need for a competent, more cost-friendly solution to service of biomedical equipment in the RTP area. Mr. Autry set out to assist researchers in maintaining the equipment to the highest operating standards in order that the research protocols remain on schedule while keeping the maintenance costs as low as possible. Mr. Autry and his wife, Avis, established a reputable, family-oriented small business that grew steadily over the next 30 years. The Autrys retired in November of 2003. Ownership was passed on to Roy E. Marshburn, Spectrofuge's General Manager. Mr. Marshburn originally came to the company in 1984, serving as a service technician for several years and becoming General Manager in 1991. Mr. Marshburn and the entire Spectrofuge team remain committed to the original vision of Spectrofuge, established by the Autrys 30+ years ago.
